Full Description
In 2010/2011 an archaeological excavation carried out during works at Christ Church Gate found evidence of what may have been the foundations of a gate (although this identification is not certain and it is possible it could be part of the precinct wall) known to have stood in 1202 as well as the foundations of the modern gate (1520).
