Monument record TQ 67 SW 1565 - Late iron Age pit group 3, Springhead

Summary

During works associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002, three late iron age pit groups were discovered, within a larger late Iron Age Ritual Landscape and close to the site of a possible rocessional way. The the third and largest of these pit groups fell within an area measuring approximately 30 m by 25 m and consisted of as many as 23 pits. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
