Full Description

During an archaeological evaluation undertaken by Wessex archaeology in 2008, a group of medieval pits were uncovered. Little can be interpreted from the results of the evaluation regarding these
features. general assumption may be drawn that these features represent relatively shallow quarrying episodes in the relatively recent past. The features were confined to the central area of the site on the high ground. The first pit was irregular measuring 1.80m x 1.50m with a depth of 0.8m. The second pit was also irregular measuring 1.41m by 0.3m with a depth of 0.07m. (1)
