Monument record TQ 57 SE 1110 - Footbridge within quarry, Swanscombe
Summary
Building recording on the extant features within at the OMYA Croxton and Garry Whiting Plant site to the north of London Road, Swanscombe, Kent. A footbridge was identified along the north eastern side of the quarry. This footbridge is first shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1908. Its purpose was to carry the footpath, which crosses the site along the northern boundary, over the tram route between the chalk quarry and Whiting Works shown to the north of the site and the quarry located within the site. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
