Abstract/Summary
In January 2019 Archaeology South-East carried out a programme of historic building recording of the extant structures at the OMYA Croxton and Garry Whiting Plant site to the north of London Road, Swanscombe, Kent prior to the proposed redevelopment of the site for residential use. The western tunnel beneath Lover’s Lane, the footbridge and the topography of the site, survive as relics of the extensive tramway network constructed by the industry as a means of goods transportation.
