Monument record TQ 67 SW 1767 - Chalk base containing Roman burial discovered during excavations at Springhead.

Summary

A c.12m square base or platform was discovered in an area just to the south of the A2 and north west of the temple complex during excavations at Springhead. The base contained a burial of first-century date and was associated with a clay base on which the cremation may have been performed. (location accurate to the nearest 10m based on available information)
