Monument record TQ 67 SW 1780 - Approximate site of Roman tiled platform, Springhead, Southfleet

Summary

A tiled platform was discovered in 1845 close to the line of the Roman road, though its precise location is not known. It may have been used for cremations as it was reported as being heavily burned and the presence of calcined bone was discovered within deposits associated with it.
