Full Description
Archaeological excavation in 2013/14 found late bronze age / early iron age cremations, pits, post holes and possible enclosure.
Some of the pits were probably natural in origin but at least one contained late bronze pottery and worked flint. Two short sections of ditch may constitute an enclosure. They contained late bronze age / early iron age pottery and animal bone. Three cremations were found that contained burnt bone. A large number of pits were also found, several containing late bronze age / early iron age pottery. These may indicate settlement activity in the excavation area. (1)
