Full Description

Archaeological evaluation carried out in 1999 found a series of 4 Iron Age pits. The pits contained pottery, burnt flint, and charcoal. The pits measured as follows, 1.4m ain width by 0.60m in depth, 1.9m in width, and 1.3m in depth, 1.5m in width by 1m in depth, 1m in length, 0.95m in width, and 0.8m in depth. The pits are thought to potentially represent the periphery of an Iron Age settlement (1, 2).
