Full Description
Archaeological evaluation in 2002 found elements of the 19th century maltings. These included a foundation cut and layer alongside at least one and possibly two ashlar footings. Alongside these features, were layers associated with the abandonment and demolition of the Malting House after 1874, prior to the land's use as a garden from the mid-19th century to the present day. Finds associated with these layers included fragments of 19th century glass bottles, mortar and brick. (1)
