Full Description

Oldbury, general area (including Oldbury Hill): surface-finds of numerous handaxes and other Palaeolithic material in the late 19th century (6 flakes, 4 possible flake-tools, and one possible Levallois flake), especially by Benjamin Harrison from the talus slope (1), mostly now held in British Museum and Maidstone Museum. More than 25 handaxes recorded by Roe in the 1960s (2), and some finds in Stopes Collection at National Museum and Gallery of Wales, Cardiff (3).
