Full Description

A large medieval pit was uncovered during an archaeological evaluation carried out at the former site of Southlands School, New Romney, Kent. It was located in the central/eastern part of the site, In trench 2. it had been cut into the storm sands and was found to contain medieval pottery and bone. It was sealed by a layer of darker sand containing bone and late medieval pottery (1) (Information summarised from source)
