Monument record TR 36 SW 1124 - Middle Neolithic Pits and possible creamtion, discovered during East Kent Access Route excavations 2009-2011

Summary

Two seemingly isolated middle neolithic pits were was uncovered during excavations associated with the construction of the East Kent Access road. The first was within an early Bronze Age enclosure. It contained struck flint and 84 sherds of pottery of Mortlake type. The second was located to the north west of the first and contained 36 sherds of pottery from a Fengate Ware jar. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
