Full Description
An archaeological evaluation at 64 London Road, Canterbury in 2022 revealed a late Iron Age/Romano-British ditch feature thought to relate to a field system. The ditch was aligned ENE-WSW; it was exposed for a length of 1.50m and was between 0.38-0.45m in width and 0.09m in depth. Finds from the ditch comprised two small fragments of burnt flint. The infill of the ditch appeared similar to natural brickearth subsoil with grey mottles.
The only other feature excavated at the site was a large post pit dating from the post-Roman period (TR 15 NW 2614).(1)
