Full Description
Early medieval-modern agricultural soil and a possible feature were excavated at 8 St Mary's Street, Canterbury in 2002. The agricultural soil has been interpreted as a series of cultivation layers from the early medieval to modern periods. These layers were also associated with three pit features which date between the post-medieval - modern periods. The pits measured between 0.67-1.70m in diameter, and 0.16-0.48m in depth. Two of the pits contained mortar, chalk, tile, and brick building rubble. (1)
