Full Description

Cropmarks of a probable Iron Age or Roman small incomplete rectangular settlement/farmstead enclosure c. 35m across located at TR 2969 6619 which is visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme.(1)

An enclosure forming part of a settlement of probable Medieval date was visible as cropmarks in HEA 29752/43 29-JUN-2015. It measured about 53.4m by 27.3m on plan. A large pit occupied the centre of the enclosed area. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2)
