Monument record TR 03 NE 262 - Late Iron Age/Romano-British features at Harringe Lane

Summary

An archaeological evaluation was carried out in advance of the construction of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 1998. Twenty evaluation trenches were excavated and archaeological features found towards the western end of the area. Shallow ditches or gullies and two possible hearths or pits containing burning were found. All the features were believed to be late iron age or Romano-British in date although one of the possible hearths produced late Bronze Age pottery.
