Full Description
Evidence for a possible palaeochannel and occupation layer was excavated at Junior King's School, Canterbury in 1999. The possible palaeochannel is described in the report as river alluvium containing only water abraded inclusions. Whilst this layer is not specifically described as a palaeochannel, the HER Officer has interpreted the information in the report to indicate that it is.
The fluvial layer is overlain by an occupation layer which existed prior to the construction of Milner Court in 1583 AD, and continued to exist up to the partial demolition of Milner Court in 1790/1791 AD. (1)
