Full Description

Barrow 6 was in the south eastern corner of the site, it comprised a segmented ditch which had been cut by later Bronze Age features. Three segments were seen, all separated by causeways. In total the segments describe half of a circuit approximately 27m in diameter. the depths and the profiles of the excavated ditch sections are strongly suggestive of discreet units. The south western most was 2.3m wide at the surface with a surviving depth of 0.55m and a shallow profile. The north western segment was 2.5-2.7m wide and survived to a depth of 1m below the machine surface. this segment had a narrow flat base and a V-shaped profile the north eastern segment was 1-1.4m wide at the surface with a maximum depth of 0.69m and a steep sided U shaped profile.
