Monument record TQ 77 SW 201 - The cropmark of a probable post medieval field boundary ditch, east of Higham
Summary
The cropmark of a probable post medieval field boundary ditch can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2004. The remains of this ditch which is to the east of Higham can be seen for circa 380m. Its most northerly point is to the south of White House Farm. It is aligned on the farm's 1870 boundary property (since removed) which was then known as Brick House. From this point it heads south-west and on the lower slopes of the hill the ditch changes direction to the south-east for its final 67m. Further up the hill is a 20m length of ditch which is on the same alignment which may be a continuation of this feature. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
