Full Description
Post-medieval/early modern probable field boundary ditches were identified during an excavation in 2004 at Rushbourne Manor, Hoath. The features comprised linear cuts, one aligned N-S, and one aligned SW-NE, measuring 1.1-1.15m in width. The fill of the feature contained 19th century brick and peg tile, alongside oyster shell in one and coke in another.
These features have been interpreted as scars from field boundary removal or boundary ditches which have been backfilled during the late post-medieval/early modern period. (1)
