Full Description

Prehistoric pit and tree throws were excavated at The Old Coach House, Dover Road in 2015.

The pit measured 1.1m in diameter and 0.3m in depth. This feature contained two pieces of prehistoric struck flint within its fill.
The tree throws measured 2.7-3m in diameter and one was recorded as reaching 0.35m in depth. One of these features contained a piece of struck prehistoric flint, the other is considered to be contemporary due to its association with the pit and its similarity to the prehistoric tree throw.

Later activity at the site was represented by Bronze Age - Iron Age pits and a gully (TR 24 NW 253), and post-medieval features relating to buildings at the site (TR 24 NW 254). (1)
