Full Description
Cropmarks of a small settlement and associated trackway, possibly medieval or earlier, visible on aerial photographs - Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. The site appears as fragmented remains of three or four rectilinear ditched enclosures with internal pits adjacent to a double-ditched trackway aligned NE-SW. The largest and most complete enclosure measures 20m 23m. The settlement lies across the 5m contour on the former NE shoreline of the Isle of Thanet overlooking Wade Marsh to the north. This site was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024 (1).
