Full Description
The site of a Second World War gun emplacement incorporated into a spur of bank on the northern (coastal) side of an extensive trench system between Birchington and Plumbpudding Island mapped from aerial photographs RAF/106G/UK/1378 V 5021 04-APR-1946 (1) as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. The gun emplacement was located at the corner of an existing rifle butts target bank. The site has now been levelled (2).
