Full Description
The site of two short Second World War slit trenches located to the west of Birchington on Sea. These formed part of the extensive defences protecting a low-lying area between Birchington and Plumbpudding Island. They were both dentified as an earthwork on aerial photograph RAF/26J/BR194 VC 37 10-JAN-1941, later noted as infilled on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 05-MAY-2018. This site was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024 (1-2).
