Full Description
A revetted slit trench and mounds of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/383 RS 958 28-DEC-1941. They were recorded as levelled earthworks on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021.
A slit trench just over 27m long with a dog-leg in its eastern end and revetted on its southern side was located alongside a field boundary on ground now occupied by Manor End. Three earthwork mounds of likely contemporary use stood in the same orientation immediately to the west of the trench. They form part of the St Nicholas at Wade Defended Area that was established in 1940-41. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
