Full Description
Three ring ditch cropmark features and a linear feature near St. Nicholas Court. Recorded form aerial photographs and Google Earth images 2007. This site is probably associated with a further number of ring ditch features in the area , as well as a very dark circular mark. (see TR 26 NE 67 and TR 26 NE 27). Part of general scatter of ring ditches. See TR 26 NE 67 and 27. (1)
A ring ditch forming part of a round barrow of Bronze Age date was visible as a cropmark in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007. Inside the ring ditch a centrally-positioned cropmark probably indicates the position of a grave. A second internal small cropmark towards the south side of the ring ditch represents the position of a pit or grave.
These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. Other features mentioned by authority (1) are now recorded separately. (2)
