Full Description

Pits forming a linear pit alignment of Later Prehistoric date were visible as cropmarks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. At least 15 pits are oriented north-west/south-east, with one pit at the southern end offset slightly to the west. The pits range in size from about 1.6m to 4.5m in maximum diameter. The alignment is about 46.5 m long. Two small pits within the interior of round barrow MKE124490, just over 14m to the north-west, are on the same alignment and may be northern outliers of the pit alignment. (1)
