Full Description
A ring ditch forming part of a round barrow of Bronze Age date was visible as a cropmark in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. Four fragments of the ring ditch could be mapped. Two small pits were visible in the interior close to the north-east side. These may be contemporary with the ring ditch but they are aligned with pit alignment MKE124487 and may be northern outliers of that later prehistoric feature. It is possible that the pit alignment pre-dates the round barrow, and the round barrow was positioned in relation to that ritual monument. T hese features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1)
