Full Description

Four pits of Later Prehistoric date were visible as cropmarks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. They form an arc around the west and south sides of the double ring ditches of a Bronze Age round barrow (MKE6426). Each pit is positioned between about 9.8m and 15.4m away from the outside edge of the barrow's outer ditch. This may be coincidental, but possibly the pits form a setting placed in reference to the round barrow. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024.
