Full Description
Undated features were identified at Minster, Thanet during a geophysical survey in 2022. “A series of weak curvilinear anomalies have been identified within the north-east of the survey area. The parallel arrangement of these anomalies may indicate a double ditched trackway and though they run in general alignment to a route with Romano-British origin the gap between the features and intervening possible extraction makes classification less certain. Therefore, these anomalies have been categorised as of possible archaeological origin…"
"Multiple curvilinear anomalies with weak positive magnetic signals are [also] present throughout the survey area. These have been classified as having an undetermined origin as they lack any distinctive morphology, pattern or corroborative evidence which would allow for a more confident interpretation. While it is more likely that these anomalies have a modern, natural, or agricultural origin, an archaeological origin cannot be fully ruled out.” (from the original report, 1). Both the archaeological and undetermind anomalies are recorded on the GIS. (1)
