Full Description
Cropmark of a rectilinear settlement enclosure visible on aerial photographs - NMR 962/95 09-JUL-1976, HEA_35258_032 22-JUN-2022 and AFL 60011/EPW000326 01-APR-1920. The site appears as sub-rectangular, sub-divided ditched enclosure 40m x 42m .This is one of a number of similar enclosures in this immediate area which may form a larger contemporary settlement. The enclosures are in a linear(NE-SW) arrangement suggesting location on former tracks or roads. The norther half of the enclousure is filled by the cropmarks of a dark macula of a possible post-medieval extractive pit. These features was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024 (1-3)
