Site identified during transcription of features recorded on air photographs. (1) RCHME AP shows 4 rectilinear enclosures: TR 3370 6772- enclosure with internal division and multiple pit features in the NE corner. TSMR 0637. TR 3367 6765- small enclosure. TR 3353 6765- Large enclosure with pit concentrations at either end of the structure and larger pits outside. TR 3351 6775- enclosure with W. side missing, parallel short, linear feature and pit features in the E. side. TR 3362 6760- linear feature and pit feature. (2)

A group of probable medieval settlement enclosures visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. These enclosures are positioned in in two converging linear arrangements suggesting they were located along two tracks or roadways - traces of which cannot be seen. One line of enclosures extends NE-SW for over 700m From east of The Nook, Blackthorn Farm to Woodchurch Track. A Second line of enclosures extends NW-SE from east of Retreat Farm, Woodchurch to TR3366 6760 where it meets the first line of enclosures at an invisible junction. These settlement enclosures have been mapped from a number of aerial photographs as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.
