Full Description

Earthwork of a large macula seen on lidar and a cropmark ditch visible on aerial photographs - LIDAR Environment Agency DSM 07-DEC-2017 and NMR 962/95 09-JUL-1976.The ditch may be the remains of a rectilinear enclosure, one of a number of enclosures in this immediate area which may form a larger contemporary linear settlement. The enclosures are in are aligned NE-SW suggesting location on former tracks or roads. The dark macula is possibly a post-medieval extractive pit. These features was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024 (1-2)
