The earthwork remains of a small medieval/post medieval rectilinear enclosure and traces of further ditches or drains seen within and partially outside the modern boundaries around the houses of Little Owls and Mayland. The rectilinear enclosure is centred at TQ 8162 7706 and defined by a single ditch with one right angled corner and two more curved corners. The first edition Ordnance Survey map has the outline of the western end of the enclosure depicted as a small water course or drain. It it bisected by the present-day field boundary and measures c. 20m x 27m. The perpendicular ditches to the north-east may be associated drains .These features were mapped from 1947 RAF aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1)
