Summary
The earthwork remains of a small rectilinear enclosure and traces of further ditches or drains, possibly medieval or post medieval in date, seen within and partially outside the modern boundaries around the houses of Little Owls and Mayland. The rectilinear enclosure is defined by a single ditch with one right angled corner and two more curved corners.It it bisected by the present-day field boundary and measures c. 20m x 27m. These features were mapped from 1947 RAF aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
