Full Description

Mounds of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/564 V 6011 01-JUN-1942 and RAF/HLA/564 V 6034 01-JUN-1942. The small mounds were evenly positioned on the north side of the former course of the Cliffs End road on Telegraph Hill. They may have been used to aid navigation during the black-out. They were recorded as levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
