Full Description
A gun emplacement of Second World War date was visible as a structure in RAF/HLA/564 V 6045 01-JUN-1942. It was positioned to the south of the Cliffs End road, about 290m west of the fuel tanks for RAF Manston's FIDO system. It comprised a gun enclosed by a penannular earthwork, with a small hut nearby. These features were recorded as demolished structures/levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024.
