Full Description

Enclosures forming part of a settlement of Medieval date and fragments of Bronze Age field systems were visible as cropmarks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-AUG-2003 and NMR 2639/3173 01-AUG-1985. The cropmarks indicate the presence of pit features inside the enclosed area.

Parts of these features have been excavated, demonstrating a complex relationship of Bronze Age and Medieval features in this location (EKE147219, SKE55405). The available aerial evidence demonstrates that buried archaeological remains extend to the south-west of the excavated area. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
