Full Description
Huts and an emergency water supply of Second World War date were visible as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6029 01-JUN-1942. They were located at RAF Manston's 'War Flight' area on the east side of the airfield. Two long huts, two small huts and a cylindrical emergency water supply tank stood to the south of the southern-most First World War hangar. An adjacent hard standing may have been for a building already demolished by the time of this photography. These features were recorded as demolished structures in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
