Full Description
Slit trenches and a spoil heap of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/564 V 6028 01-JUN-1942. They were part of defences on the Manston Road around the eastern approach to RAF Manston, but appear to be in the process of being infilled at the time of this photography. They were recorded as levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
