Monument record MKE125398 - Enclosure, south of Reading Street Road

Summary

A medieval rectangular enclosure and a small section of ditch are visible as cropmarks on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. The enclosure appears to be aligned along the southside of the route of Reading Street Road and is aligned northeast-southwest. The enclosure is formed by a narrow circuit of ditch, but only two sides are visible. It is unclear whether the fragment of ditch, which runs northwest-southeast, is part of the medieval archaeological features. An alternative interpretation is that it reflects a former alignment of the public footpath that runs across the corner of the modern field.
