Full Description

An incomplete ring ditch with a diameter of 6.5m seen in fields near Shottendane Farm visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs: A small ring ditch in fields near Shottendane Farm visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs: EARTH.GOOGLE.COM JUL-2017 ACCESSED 13-NOV-2023 and mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. This is likely to be the remains of a round barrow. The southern half is not visible. It lies amongst a number of grave cuts of an Anglo-Saxon cemetery (TR 36 NW 23) and could be the remains of an Anglo-Saxon burial mound. (1)
