Monument record TQ 87 NW 1242 - Two fragmented parallel ditches of uncertain date seen as cropmarks
Summary
Two fragmented parallel ditches of uncertain date seen as cropmarks and mapped from aerial photographs taken in 2011 as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The ditches are aligned WSW-ENE and can be traced for c.125m and lie between 3.3m and 4.3m apart. It is possible that they represent the remains of a later prehistoric boundary or a narrow trackway associated with the cropmarks of enclosures noted to the east and north-east (also cropmarks photographed in 2011 by English Heritage). The ditches pass through an incomplete ring ditch, possibly a Bronze Age round barrow.
