Full Description

Cropmarks of an oval ring ditch 25m x 28.8m, possibly the remains of round barrow, one of a group previously identified in fields to the north east of Monkton roundabout. These cropmarks were mapped as part of the Royal Commission on the Historic Monuments of England' Kent NMP Project and have since been mapped from aerial photographs:Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012 as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. These sites are now recorded separately as child records to the parent record TR 26 NE 235. The SW side of the encircling ditch appears to thicken suggesting a pit dug into the feature. (1)
