Full Description
Cropmarks of a rectilinear enclosure of Iron Age/Roman date mapped from aerial photographs: HEA 29754/2 29-JUN-2015 and Google Earth images as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. This enclosure appears to lie under the NW corner of a larger double-ditched Iron Age/Roman enclosure TR 26 NE 271. This smaller earlier enclosure measures approximately 21m x 29m and lies on a different alignmen t from the later complex, though the northern side of both this and the later complex appear to coincide, possibly suggesting some respecting or relationship between the two phases of construction. Within the enclosure there are three pits which could be associated with either phase (1-2)
