Monument record TQ 67 SE 1295 - An undated fragmented linear ditch seen as a cropmark
Summary
An undated fragmented linear ditch seen as a cropmark and mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The ditch is aligned NW-SE and comprises two main sections of 65m and 50m. Part of this ditch was sectioned as part of a watching brief on the Grain-Shorne Gas Pipeline. The exavation showed the ditch to be 2m wide and 2m deep with a V -shaped section. Dating was inconclusive, but a pit at the southern end of the ditch was dated to the Prehistoric.
