Monument record TQ 67 SE 1309 - A linear ditch, possibly a later prehistoric or Roman field boundary which was seen as a cropmark
Summary
A linear ditch, possibly a later prehistoric or Roman field boundary which was seen as a cropmark and mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The ditch is aligned N-S and can be traced for 125m. Its southern end appears to skirt closley around the edge of a small ring ditch (also seen as a cropmark and recorded as NMR Monument: 413762) thought to be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, indicating the barrow mound was extant when the ditch was dug.
