Summary

A lake with a waterfall is visible on the Heritage Tithe Maps and the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. Recorded during 2024 Kent Downs National Landscape Historic Ponds project. The lake is associated with Lullingstone Castle (TQ 56 SW 155) to the north, and forms part of Lullingstone Park (TQ 56 SW 111), the landscape surrounding the house.

Description: Large pond opposite Lullingstone Castle. Seen on 1st and 2nd edition OS and fed by the River Darent. Modern OS shows it has been enlarged significantly to fill the land between the two tributaries.
