Full Description
An archaeological evaluation carried out in 2018 found only ephemeral archaeological features of medieval date. The features were in the centre of the site and consisted of a pit, a posthole and an indeterminate feature. They contained pottery dated to AD 1175-1225, charred plant remains and daub. The excavators noted that the area had been heavily impacted by later agricultural activity but did show the continuation of medieval activity along Rolfe Street.(1)
