Full Description
Post-medieval ditches associated with an agricultural landscape were excavated on land to the east of Bogshole Lane, Herne Bay in 2001. Two of the ditches were parallel and measured 18m and 25m in length respectively, separated by around 23.5m. Two other ditches extended beyond the limits of the excavation, therefore their lengths are unknown. The ditches measured between 0.35-1.40m in width and 0.25-0.50m in depth.
During this period, one of the late medieval structures at the site was abandoned and underwent collapse. Post-medieval pottery was identified in deposits associated with this event. (1)
